Okay, maybe this trilogy isn't for everyone, but everyone that I know who have read them have loved them, so why deprive yourself of something that good?
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is the first book in the trilogy. Catching Fire is the second book and Mockingjay is supposedly the last book. I read The Hunger Games like I was a blood thirsty vampire or a hummingbird sucking on nectar -- use whichever comparison you prefer. After I finished the first book, I immediately passed it along to my mother who called later to fuss at me, because she stayed up way past her bedtime reading that book to its end. She was then mad at the ending, because she didn't remember me telling her it was the first book in a triology.
Don't do like I did and read the summary before you read it .... else, you may be like me and say ... that's not something I want to read. I didn't read this book for almost a year after someone first recommended it ... it took another friend to recommend it and loan me her book before I agreed to read it.
I've been entertained ever since ... and lucky me ... I have the last book waiting on me! Crazy thing is ... I can't seem to bring myself to crack open its cover, because I know the end draws nigh .... and I don't want the story to end.
Such sweet sorrow!

I don't know why your posts don't appear in Google Reader...
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking I missed you and thought I'd pop by to see what you've been up to...
Hmmmph.. and I find a couple posts I haven't read. You must think I'm a horrid "bloggy friend".
I'm the bad bad bloggy friend here! I've been away for too long. Barely here to write and rarely to read. I do miss my blog friends, even if my actions suggest otherwise.
