Joie de vivre!

My computer died last week, so I had to get a new one, and now I feel like I'm cooking with gas.  Zoom zoom ... I feel like I've just pulled off from a green light while manually shifting gears!  Talk about fun!  Now, if I would just break down and buy myself a new car fully equipped with a standard shift.  Oh yeah baby, I'm never buying an automatic transmission again or a car that surrounds one.  I've missed the feeling of being one with my car and I never felt more at one with a car than I did when I owned a car with a stick shift and a clutch.  That's one of the reasons that I miss the craziest lover I've ever had in my entire life.  He was crazy enough to let me drive his jeep from the Gulf of Mexico north to the deep end of Dixie, and it didn't seem to bother him in the least when his clutch put up a fight and I refused to back down.  Let's just say that I never became one with his clutch, but there were times when I wanted to be nothing less than one with him and that mostly happened when clothing was nowhere to be found.  I KNOW, I KNOW.  TMI.  Whatever, doesn't everyone have a salacious love or two?  Or three, if you count my new computer.  Or four, if you count Steven, my naughty sext mate, or five, if you count the firefighter from San Franciso that I met at The Salty Dog. Let's just say that I can still taste a bit of salt and it wasn't from the dog.  God bless technology, airplanes, stick shifts and joie de vivre!

  1. Okay, you're just WEIRD! Why would anyone want a stick shift in their car these days!?

Granted, it probably would be better for teenagers these days. They won't be able to text and drive that way... but I digress. The stick shift scares me and I thought they didn't make that anymore!!

  2. Hey now ... don't knock a stick shift and a clutch, til you master that unique combo :) Once you master it, it's pure fun! Unless of course, you live on a mountain or anywhere there are big hills!

  3. Not TMI for me. In fact, pics and vblog would do nicely. After driving trucks for years, I am happy with an automatic. I become one with the car is a controlled slide instead.

  4. ...or in perpetual stop-and-go traffic. I gave up my stick shift Camaro because I felt like I was in a rowing machine from hell each and every morning commute in northestern urban sprawl known as Megaslopolis.

I've been wondering where you've been... sounds like you are "out there" having fun!

  5. Hello sweet mens! Looks like I'm in the stick shift minority ... oh but how I loved it and now miss it ... so I will stay true to that one love even though everyone else doesn't share that love.
