Well, that didn't happen when I visited Havana, Florida, yesterday. There were only three things that were appealing to me about Havana, the first being its name. For me, Havana conjures up visions of flamenco dancing and beautiful men in stylish fedoras. Yeah well, a girl can dream can't she?
The second appeal being the victorian styled cottage "Weezie's Cottage Living" was located in. I don't love victorian style, but I do love old houses, and would you just take a look at Weezie's center hall, which offers a view from back to front and creates the most delicious breezeway.
Since the third appeal for the day was the perfect weather, I got over the fact that I could not take a snooze in Weezie's hallway. When I realized the bedrooms each had a door which opened onto the wrap around porch, I was then having visions of a new old house to call my own.
After leaving this wish inducing structure, we decided to move on and mark this little town off our destination list. Been there, didn't do much.
I'm back to my own old house with a center hall that runs into my bedroom which is screaming for attention. My car is begging for a scrub and rub. My dust bunnies are hoping for a game of chase. I, on the other hand, am busy having visions of Beaufort, South Carolina, which is soon to welcome her arms to the vacationing likes of me.
Crap, I promised myself that the month of October would be dedicated to my favorite childhood holiday Halloween, and this post decided to deviate from the misson. Hmmm ... what to do, what to do ...
BOO!!!!
Whatever, that's the best I could do.
