My everyday thoughts chase me like a lion on the scent of a gazelle. I like to believe that I keep slightly ahead of them, but I suspect they quietly laugh at such a foolish notion as they slink in the tall grass ready to pounce. When I remember my human form, which I am, instead of that form of a gazelle, which I'm not, those thoughts lurk in the shadows as I pass by. They tip their hats at me in a furtively knowing manner. They know I see them, they know I hear them, and they know I will never escape them. Their silent whispers reach me as swiftly as the sting of their message is felt by my denying neurons ... "Change, change, change. It has all changed. If you choose to stay the same, we are coming for you."
Do you think they can find me in Vegas? I'm going soon.
I hope I find this young man there.

ReplyDeleteChange is good. Change is fun. It jingles in your pocket unlike paper money.
ReplyDeleteBut when I feel the other kind of change sneaking up on me I just turn and face it and give a big, loud growl. Then I choose when and how I want the change to come.
@Coffeypot -- you make me smile!
ReplyDeleteare you running?
