Above, is the "almost" before shot. It's actually a photo taken after they started cleaning up the mutant vegetation hedge between my unruly neighbors and me. Imagine a solid wall of tangled mess, because that was what it was a few hours earlier. Definitely a photo before its transformation, which is shown below.
The row of shrubs creating the hedge effect are Tea Olives or Osmanthus Fragrans. They smell delicious. The very large shrub in the center of the bed is a Camellia Sasanqua. The three small shrubs in front of the Camellia (which you can see below) are Azaleas which will soon bloom in white.
That's one new landscaped bed. Let me see if I can post some more pics.
New foundation beds being incorporated into old foundation plantings which were very linear before
Work in progress.
The newly formed front shrub bed and newly dug side hedge bed between my yard and that of my better behaved neighbor.
Here's a front view. All the plants except those directly under the three windows are newly planted or to be planted. The tree by the front windows is new too!
This is my very narrow side yard, that was then under construction All of that is new except for the old fence which needs replacing and the vine on the fence.
This is how it looks completed (going from the front yard to the back yard).
This is the view coming from the back yard going to the front yard. Nice huh? I think so.
Coming from the walkway on the side yard towards the front yard.
View from the porch landing.
View from the side.
And another. Bored yet?
View from the street.
Another street view.

This is a view of the foundation beds (shot from inside the house). Do you see all those dark green little plants planted below the new tree? That is called mondo grass, and my neighbor's stray cats dig some of those up everyday, since they decided my new planting bed is their new litter box. I have been re-planting a few of these everyday since the landscapers came and went, and that does NOT make me a HAPPY CAMPER.
Okay, I'm sleepy tired ... so I will spare yall the dozens of other photos I have. Except for this one:
I'm adding splashes of color to all that new greenery!

Looks really really nice!!! I wish I had stepstones on the side of my house... that would be very efficient!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nikki ... I'm enjoying my new yard. I will love it even better in a few weeks time, and even more in a few months time. Everything will be really green then, a little bigger hopefully, and the new tree will bloom lushly out in white!
ReplyDeleteIts looking really, really good! I'm "green" with envy.
ReplyDelete@Intense Guy -- I'm green with envy over you being more of a punster than me :)
