Some dreams are quite the wicked little tricksters!!
I've been trying to put Pookie away. I tried to stuff him in the side pocket of my cargo pants, but he couldn't get comfortable. He claimed I kept moving around too much and that he was getting motion sickness. I tried to put him in my jewelry box, but he kept saying that my earring posts were sticking him six ways from Sunday. I tried to put him in my Christmas closet, but he said the mixed smell of last year's cinnamon and pine scented potpourri was giving him a headache. Next, I stuffed him in the sewing tin, but my button fell off and I had to fish the tin and subsequently him back out. He was screaming mad about being left in there beside the pin cushion. I think he thought I was going to use all those pins to mount him to a board like the beautiful butterfly that he is. Finally, I tossed him into my lingerie drawer ... and he seemed happy. A little too happy if you ask me. I thought ... whew ... finally ... I can get Pookie off my mind.
Wouldn't you know that Pookie found a way back in? He hijacked my dream and seduced me in front of God, his angels and all mere mortals roaming that same wee houred dream scape -- dozens of strangers whom we ignored in favor of passion ignited by the light of ten thousand fireflies. I was so annoyed with myself, but I have to admit that Pookie is Giamaco Casanova incarnated, and I never stood a chance against his continuous advances. I hate to break this to Pookie's new interest, but I feel strongly that Pookie and I are now expecting at least one dream baby. Who knows, maybe even twins. Hmmm ... I wonder if every expected dream baby comes with a "how to" book. Gosh, I hope so, cuz I don't know nuthin' bout birthin' no dream babies.
It probably didn't help that I was listening to some fanciful and dreamy music before drifting off to sleep. Have a listen. Who know, maybe you will score some dream babies of your own. Be careful though, even "dem dream babies is 'spensive ventures."

Stop running with those scissors! But it's an emergency!
Is this {ego} big enough?
How 'bout this {EGO}?
What about this super sized {EGO}?
Has anyone come along lately and asked you if you wanted to supersize your ego? I think mine, being dismayed by its three letter capacity, came down with a Napoleon complex and ordered an ego pump, Viagra or growth hormones behind my back. Hell, I don't know how an ego grows without your permission, but I know that it has. I would never have permitted such a purchase or complimentary gift, but I wasn't aware that it was trying to increase its size and subsequently its power.
All I know is, the bigger it gets, the needier it becomes. And, I don't do needy, not even from myself. I knew I was weary, but I didn't realize it was because I was as busy trying to feed my ego as a mama or a papa bird is when spring feeding their baby chick screaming from its nest for some plump and juicy worms.
Over the weekend, I finished the book eat pray love (by Elizabeth Gilbert) and started a new book, well not a new book, just a different book. This book by Zig Ziglar, which is old school, most recently celebrated it's 25th anniversary with an updated edition in 2000. It's title, See You At The Top. While reading the self esteem portion of this book, I had an epiphany that I was over-esteemed, not under-esteemed. Which may be good to a degree, but I realized that I also have some questionable qualities that can be solely attributed to my insatiable ego, which in serious retrospect, could be trying to increase its size due to past hurt, betrayal and neglect. Basically, my ego has been fronting and I have given its trippin' a lot of thought. I sought out some information on how to lessen my ego, and one of the things that I thought may help, is for me to practice a bit of Lent in July (and August). No, I'm not Catholic, but I can borrow a concept can't I?
Buh Bye ... Facebook. Buh Bye ... Pookie. Buh Bye ... verbal rants and raves. Buh Bye ... you attention seeking slut. Buh Bye ... EGO. See you after I cut you down to a respectable size!
There is NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING about Elizabeth Gilbert (at least what I know of her), which I do not love, including her talk on TED, which won a place among viewer favorites. I'm sharing her divineness here with you! Find 20 minutes ... she's a born writer, story teller and speaker.

All I ever wanted
The only way to reach Shangrila is to escape survival's grasp. Doesn't everyone know? The fountainhead of laughter hides behind the watershed where an infinite stream of tears intersects with humanity's ocean. I, ever the pessimist, doubted its existence, but have now come to the end of my resistance.
I'm letting go of the olive branch, so that I can be carried upstream on the tail of Goliath's salmon. I'm leaving behind my soul's crevasse and its cold cold echo, always screaming for proof -- Prove that you matter, Prove that you matter, Prove that you matter! I, in an abysss of doubt, can prove nothing. Weary from seeking letters of recommendation from characters who are too busy seeking character witnesses of their own, I can no longer throw down the gauntlet. Where can I hide from my soul's incessant persecution? Only behind the watershed above the crosswaters.
All I ever wanted was a life full of laughter ... but someone or something has stilled its flow. I can still hear you calling for me, but I can no longer answer you. Can you hear my lingering breath taking on the rushing water through gasping gills? Say that you could, even when I'm too distant to hear you. My soul needs proof that I mattered.

Only angels know the rest ...
Poet, Emily Dickinson
from The Selected Poems of Emily Dickinson
*******************
I hide myself within my flower,
That wearing on your breast,
You, unsuspecting, wear me too --
And angels know the rest.
I hide myself within my flower,
That, fading from your vase,
You, unsuspecting, feel for me
Almost a loneliness.
******************************
Wild nights! Wild nights!
Were I with thee,
Wild nights should be
Our luxury!
Futile the winds
To a heart in port, --
Done with the compass,
Done with the chart.
Rowing in Eden!
Ah! the sea!
Might I but moor
To-night in thee!
******************
To lose thee, sweeter than to gain
All other hearts I knew.
'T is true the drought is destitute,
But then I had the dew!
The Caspian has its realms of sand,
Its other realm of sea;
Without the sterile perquisite
No Caspian could be.
**********************
So we must keep apart,
You there, I here,
With just the door ajar
That oceans are,
And prayer,
And that pale sustenance,
Despair!
Unmanageable EYE ROLL ... aka ANNOYANCE 050
You know what else I really like about you Pookie? You are fairly easy to please when it comes to picking out "every day" stuff and you are easily pleased by the simple things in life. It only took you about five or ten minutes to select your GPS unit. Sheets and new comforter --maybe a total of three minutes. So decisive. How sexy!
Wanna know what's NON SEXY and EYE ROLL PROVOKING? A committee of three trying to decide on a tray to sit under four acrylic glasses and a matching acrylic ice bucket. Ummmmmm .... hello, how about an acrylic tray? I think this place missed out on those KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) seminars.
Please, somebody shoot me and put me out of my misery.
