Don't do me any favors

Does anyone besides me ever look around and ask themselves ... "What now?"

My sister tells me my problem is, I don't have children.  She says if I had children, I would never again think about what I am going to do with the rest of my life.  I say to her, "That's all well and good, but I don't have children, so, WHAT NOW?"  She just shrugs and asks me if I would like to have my nephew.   I say, "Ummm, thanks, but then you would perpetually wonder what you will do with the rest of your life, and I wouldn't curse anyone with that turmoil, not even you."  Just goes to show, there is no lack of love between siblings!

Hey, I love my nephew, but if I am going to have a kid, I want to mold him to my own liking.

  1. As a mother, I'm afraid I had to smirk at your comment on molding him to your own liking. I have four kids, and molding isn't in the cards; you get what you get, trust me;0)

  2. @Cinette -- I will accept your smirk, because you are absolutely right. What's that they say? Best laid plans ...

@Coffey -- That is exactly the attitude I need to take! Cuz this coming up with NEW goals is harder than it sounds.

Funny how many parents seem to be so eager to let someone else have their kid(s)...

The world is crowded enough - I think we got enough kids ...for now.

  4. @Iggy -- No we don't, we need more children to balance out that the Baby Boomers and Generation whatever it is now, so that we have some hope of supplementing our retirement income ;)

I actually like children, but the closest I have ever gotten to my own is the daughter of my second fiance. She still loves me :)
