WOE unto the one who dares defy my love or tries to part our forever connected souls ...
That silly bit of fun my friends was acted out to the singing voice of Screamin' Jay Hawkins from back in the day. Screamin' Jay wrote and sang that song back in the mid to late 1950s. The song would later rise to Rock and Rock Hall of Fame status, and has been covered by the likes of CCR, Nina Simone, Ray Charles, Marilyn Manson and the list goes on.
The video below features Zooey Deschanel singing her version of his song. Zooey's rendition is just as soul stirring!

At first I thought that song came from The Little Shop of Horrors...but was wrong. I still like it.
ReplyDeleteHmm,, makes you think twice about wanting a soul mate...
ReplyDeleteNot that I'm worried about ever finding one.
@CP and Iggy -- ooooh .... come back and watch Zooey Deschanel belt that tune out. Come back even later, and I may post the Pussy Cat Dolls' version of that song!
ReplyDeleteZooey is one hot chick. But I am no a Pussy Cat Dolls fan. Trying to be sexy turns me off. All Zooey has to do is just stand there. However, I really like the first one better. More emotion and guttural power. Kind of like when I am constipated.
ReplyDelete@CP -- Alright! A man of excellent taste and at least a few good morals ;)
