I'm home, eating lunch and typing with a few sticky fingers. I'm eating leftover BBQ chicken, coleslaw and baked beans. Homemade birthday fudge is what's for dessert. Thanks Mom. I was totally honest with you when I said that your homemade fudge is better than the fudge we bought downtown Charleston for $10.00 per pound. Your fudge has a little more tooth to it, and I like that about it. No schoomzing required.
Yall, I'm smiling, but I'm also experiencing residual post vacation blues. I am not so down that I can see the dust which I know is on the floor under this desk, but I'm feeling a bit melancholy. Someone reminded me that this always happens not only when I come back from vacation, but also when the sunlight shifts along with the change in season. Oh well, nothing a bit of outdoor exercise won't cure. A friend of mine will be visiting from Tennessee this weekend. If I'm lucky, she will agree to a day of hiking. If a little company and exercise doesn't improve my mood, I always have the 47th Annual Seafood Festival in Apalachicola, Florida, to look forward to. Here's a link http://www.floridaseafoodfestival.com/ , maybe I will see you there!
If that beach trip doesn't do me in, I have a friend's wedding to attend the week before Thanksgiving in North Georgia. Here's a toast to fabulous distractions!

If you are in North Georgia and would like a cup of coffee, I'm right here. But the home from vacation thing? I always look forward to going and I look forward to coming home. No letdown on my side - though I may be tired.
ReplyDeleteI feel like some outdoor exercise too, but I'm not liking the wind and rain that's battering the house right now. Snow expected for tomorrow. (Sigh) Never had much of a summer to speak of this year, and now winter's knocking. Better go hit the treadmill. Have fun out hiking with your guest!
ReplyDeleteDang, I really wish I could be at that Seafood Festival!! The food in Apalachicola is so yummmmmmy!!!!
ReplyDeletep.s., I hate trying to spell Apalachicola....
@CP -- thanks for the offer of coffee with Coffee!
ReplyDelete@Cinette -- Snow? Really? I'm totally jealous of the rain. We are experiencing a drought this summer in the deep south, and today's 50% rain chance for the first time in a month, didn't odd out in our favor. What a bummer.
@Iggy -- LOL ... practice makes Apalachicola perfect! Their seafood is usually mighty tasty! I will think of you when I am sampling their offerings.
