My home slightly runneth over ....

My home slightly runneth over with books, clothes and miscellaneous clutter that you know I just have to own for whatever reason may surface.  However, I wish to goodness everything in my home actually followed the premise that everything has its own place.  Most of my belongings do have a home within my home, but with a total of three "normal" sized closets (they didn't even know what a "walk-in closet" was when my house was built) and a penchant for purchasing "what was I thinking?" clothes which inevitably spend more time hanging out in my closet, than they do on my body, the contents of my closets have overflowed their parameters and are taking on the habit of Kudzu, which you southerners, and possibly the rest of you, know is an invasive plant which will consume everything in its path, if it sits still long enough.

Having a professional job and a very casual life means lots of wardrobe changes during the week, and therefore lots of clothes to corral every single day.  On top of that, I have been trying to decide what I am going to take to Vegas with me, so I have clothes layed about awaiting my final verdict and others that are awaiting their turn to be returned to the closet or thrown into the laundry.  My house is out of order!

Order out of chaos is what I need to make in my life. In the meantime, God has been helping me find things lost in the rubble .... my keys, my glasses and my debit card.

Dear God, I'm so thankful for answers to even small problems in a world full of turmoil.

  1. Are you turning into a horder?

  2. Nope, no horder here. Simply a person who gets tired of the neverending task of putting things back where they go or deciding where they should go in the first place.

  3. It's your house...declare where ever something is as the place it belongs. That lessens the stress.

  4. @Coffeypot -- well, now there's a suggestion I have never heard before, and certainly does lessen the stress ;) Since God has been so gracious to help me locate the things I really needed to find (and I really do mean God helped me find them), then I can stop worrying about. Besides, I just hung all the clothes up and made a list of those going to Vegas with me!

  5. I'm slowly throwing away or donating to charity all the clothes I don't wear.

I put the ones where I just can seem to part with on a table downstairs and if they don't get worn within a month, into the donation bag they go. I still have a good 6 months of uncluttering to do.
